Lois Margaret Brenner

An experienced attorney specializing in family and divorce law, with extensive practice as a mediator and expert in alternative dispute resolution. Since 1994, she has been the owner of her own law firm, Lois M. Brenner, Esq., focusing on divorces, family mediation, and protecting clients’ interests in complex litigation.

Previously, she headed the matrimonial law department at Herzfeld & Rubin, worked as a corporate attorney at Sidamon-Eristoff, Morrison, and spent over 20 years as a court-appointed mediator for complex family cases in the New York Supreme Court.

Her education includes a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Pace University School of Law (1980) and business studies at NYU Stern Graduate School of Business. Additionally, in 2006, she earned a Physician Assistant (PA) degree from Hofstra University, allowing her to apply a multidisciplinary approach to family cases, including the psychological aspects of divorce.

She is an accredited mediator with the Family and Divorce Mediation Council and a member of the New York State Bar Association. She also belongs to the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants, holding a medical qualification that enhances her unique legal approach.

A recipient of prestigious awards, including “Best Lawyer” by Expertise (2020) and recognition in the Martindale-Hubbell rating (2016). In 1994, the New York Supreme Court recognized her as a mediation expert for complex cases.
